Description
The Gallery Community Orchestra, Lower Hutt, is open to musicians of all ages. Whether you're a primary, intermediate or secondary school student, a teenager, a university student, an adult, or an adult returning to music, you're welcome here.
Rehearsals cover a range of repertoire from classical to contemporary, chosen to be engaging and achievable for players of varying abilities. The orchestra performs at the annual Gallery concert and occasionally at community events throughout the year.
There are two groups: Orchestra and Ensemble, our Junior Orchestra.
Orchestra requires approximately 3 years of prior tuition on your instrument.
The Ensemble (Junior Orchestra) requires approximately 1 year of prior tuition on your instrument.
Orchestra practices on Saturday mornings during school terms, 9:30-11:30 am at Dyer Street School, Lower Hutt. Ensemble joins the Orchestra from 9:30-10:00 am.
