The mission of the Auckland Sinfonietta Trust is to use music and the performing arts to strengthen relationships in the community between all ethnic groups. We work towards this mission by promoting the exposure of music from all kinds of cultures and providing local musicians with a performing platform and connections both locally and abroad. The musicians in the orchestra all live in the Auckland area. 

The objectives  of the Auckland Sinfonietta Trust are to: 

• Provide a link between local musicians and performing artists and   international professionals. 

• Provide New Zealand communities with world-class performances by  inviting leading international musicians and performing groups to perform  with the Sinfonietta.

• Support the performing arts community in New Zealand by providing performance opportunities and workshops hosted by talented mentors. 

• Recognise and nurture young aspiring talent and performing artists living in New Zealand.

• Build a network for young musicians living in New Zealand and abroad to collaborate and build lasting relations with performing groups outside of their home countries. 

• To support other music and performing arts groups in New Zealand including choirs, orchestras, and children's groups with similar objectives to the Trust.
